Mahalo Wayne, Dennis, and Steve for another good fun ride, the cornerman system kept us all together in one pack.
Steve Lau is one cool dad, he rides with his son’s on some of Hawaii’s most demanding trails, Josh & Justin bust okoli to keep up with their father, they prove the old MK 200 enduro saying is true “A family that rides together sticks together” we need more Steve Lau’s in this world.
Bill and I had fun popping wheelies and jumping swales side by side going through the old cane field sections.
The 50’s Restaurant in Laupahoehoe was a surprise to me,folks there were super nice, it now will be one of my Superbike pit stop’s on my fun rides around the Island every week end.
High light of the day was the tree down on a one lane bridge, that little 6″ foo foo log 3″ off the ground was on a slight angle with a foot peg catching limb poking up just enough to intimidate riders, it got me, I fell into the rough cement bridge shaving long curls of plastic up on the front finder.
As usual, Mana Rd was dusty with fog, I have wiper blades glued on both gloves, this is a must if you want to see @ any speed.
Speaking of speed, Raife took us on a side loop out in pasture land, this two track was fun to crank it up a bit, pull some wheelie’s and find lumps to blip off for some air time, one section was smooth for a few miles and I got complacent on the gas on a slight rise but on the other side it was a deep crisscross rutted powder slit section about 50′ long, I hit that about 50 mph and got waaaaay out of shape with ass off seat and legs flaying I got on the gas and the powerful Honda straightened it’s self out keeping me from a soil sample, I saw Mike Lum get stalled in one of many silt traps.
Mahalo to Dennis for riding sweep, eating dust the whole time, just to keep us all together, plus fix any bike anywhere any time with his many “Strap-on” tool’s—my kind of brother, don’t ride trail without a Dennis!
When we got to the end of Mana Rd the sun started to set and Larry Beck got the best pic of the day of us riders silhouetted in the days ending light, good one Larry ma-man.

FYI Get ready> the 29th of November will be a serious level 4 ride put on by Steve Lau, log on in a few days for a poster with more info.
